Library Gathering Room, Jerusalem

at Bezalel academy Mt. Scopus Campus, 2011

Small but cute, the project began with a discovery of an unused attic, where old books were piled up. Given access by a spiral staircase, along with daylight and air via a skylight, it became a pleasant refuge. Hanging bookshelves and a peripheral bench further transformed it into a cozy niche for group or individual activity – reading, screening, talking and, occasionally, taking a nap.
