Beit Hakerem Flat, Jerusalem

2017

The flat in a stepped hillside building from the 1970's, in the 'garden city' neighborhood of Beit Hakerem, has both a garden and a terrace. It was reorganized around a long, double-sided cupboard acting as its spine. Clad with Finnish pine, this repetitive but varying element gives the flat its overall character, while adapting to the specific nature and needs of each space it runs along.
