National Library, Jerusalem

International competition honorary mention, 2012

Inspired by the existing National Library building - a sort of enlarged version of Villa Savoye, built in the 1960's - this entry lets the landscape through its continuous ground floor. Influenced also by the nearby Israel Museum, its varying modular strips follow an open-edged syntax, creating a built field rather than a delimited object.
